Lifelong Learning
Community Center
Each Community Center provides the city residents or those who work for the city with classes and lectures to encourage social and cultural pursuits, establish the lifelong learning program and to connect with one another to create a sense of community. Many residents use these halls as meeting places for their group activities.

*All Community Centers regularly open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will be closed on Wednesdays, national holidays (except for holidays on Sunday), and from December 28th through January 4th.
*The reception hours for applying for permission to use the facilities are from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. during the opening hours (except Sundays). Please apply from 2 months up to 7 days beforehand.

Outline of the facility
1F: Life and Knowledge
The collection includes general materials, reference books, local materials, newspapers and magazines, young adult books (for junior and high school students), auditory materials. Large print books, Braille books and audio books are also offered for elderly or disabled users. Booth for watching videos and DVDs and computers for using internet and CD-ROMs are set up as well. This floor welcomes you with useful information on everyday life covering a wide range of areas in hobby, recreation, study, work and more.
2F: Children and Interchange
Picture books, picture show cards, children's books, study books, children's literature and study materials are collected. This floor is aimed at connecting books with people. There are reading room for storytelling and picture shows and exhibit room for library activities such as reading sessions and training.

Tuesdays, every 3rd Wednesdays, January 4th, every 1st Wednesday (inventory day)
*If a national holiday falls on the closed day, the next day will also be closed.
Library Inventory Day: For about 10 days around the end of February.
Library Network
In order to exchange library resources, computers for easy access to the City Library on-line system are set up at Nanbu Community Center library room. You can receive the books from the City Library at Nanbu Community Center library room, and vice versa.
Borrowing Books
All people who live, work, or study at a school in Yamatokoriyama City are eligible to borrow books. First-time visitors should go to the service desk with proof of current residential address (driver's license, health insurance card, student diary etc.) and apply for the library card.
*The maximum number of books you can borrow is 5 for 2 weeks.
*Returning Books
Please return the books at the service desk. There is no need to present your library card. When the library is closed, please return them to the return box beside the East/ West entrance.
*Reservation
Borrowed books can be reserved. When the book you reserved returns to the library, we will give you a call. Please come to the library within a week.
*Searching Books
If you can't find the book you are looking for, or if you are not sure about which materials to use for your inquiry, please feel free to ask the library staff.
*Online Services
Services such as reservations for books that have been borrowed, renewal of the due date, searching for library materials etc. are available through personal computers or cell phones.
