When you confirm pregnancy
Submit Report of Pregnancy ("ninshin todokede-sho") and then you will be issued a Mother and Child Health Handbook ("boshi kenkō techō"), Health Checkup Subsidy Ticket for Expectant Mother, and Baby Nara Card (Baby Support Card).

At the time of birth
Submit the Birth Certificate ("shusshō todoke") and then around 2 months after the baby's birth the Infant Health Checkup Card, Child Care Consultation Card, and Immunization Card will be sent to you. If you do not receive the above (newcomers etc.), please contact us.
Health counseling during pregnancy/ after delivery
Consultation services are available at the window or by calling the public center. If necessary, public health nurses will make house calls to provide counseling. Nutritionists will answer your questions on dietary needs.

Child care consultation services
Child care consultation services are available at the window or by calling or sending the Post Birth Care Card ("shusshō renraku kādo") to the Health Center. If necessary, public health nurses, midwives or nutritionists will make house calls. Nutritionists will also provide you with consultations on appropriate diet. You may send your Post Birth Care Card by the city's website.
*Home guidance is for under 4 months.

Medical fee assistance program for children
From new-born to pre-school children: Hospitalization/ Outpatient treatment
For elementary school children: Hospitalization only
(No income limit)
*Eligible recipients: Those who are registered as Yamatokoriyama residents and are enrolled in the medical insurance program.
*Requisites for the application: National Health Insurance Card ("Kenko Hoken-sho") or Health Insurance Association Member Card ("Kumiaiin-sho"), a document that indicates the income of the applicant, spouse or the member of the household who is obligated for support (taxation certification.) If the application is made from January to July, the income tax paid in the year before the previous year will be used. If the application is made from August to December, the income tax paid in the previous year will be used. However, the submission is not required if the amount of income can be identified by the Municipal Residents' Tax Department.

Birth assistance program
This is a system for expectant mothers who cannot afford to be hospitalized due to financial reasons. The system provides financial support and facilities where expectant mothers can feel safe giving birth. Please consult us at earliest as possible in order to secure the facility.
