Cancer Checkup
We provide you with cancer checkups (including gastric, uterine, breast, lung, large bowel) for early detection.
Women's Health Checkup Program
We provide osteoporosis checkups for women who are 40 years old, and also for those who are 50 years old (at the city's designated medical institutions). It is essential to be aware of this disease, which is common to women of all ages.
*Health checkup card will be sent to those who are eligible.
Expense: 500 yen
Medical Benefits for the Elderly
Those who are under 70 years of age and from municipal tax exempted households. (All the household members must be tax-exempt.)
In general, 90% of the medical expense will be covered. For those who have a certain amount of income, 70% will be covered.
*Eligible recipients: Those who are registered as Yamatokoriyama residents and are enrolled in the medical insurance program.
*Requisites for the application: National Health Insurance Card ("Kenko Hoken-sho") or Health Insurance Association Member Card ("Kumiaiin-sho"), a document that indicates the income of the applicant, spouse or the member of the household who is obligated for support (taxation certification). If the application is made from January to July, the income tax paid in the year before the previous year will be used. If the application is made from August to December, the income tax paid in the previous year will be used. However, the submission is not required if the amount of income can be identified by the Municipal Residents' Tax Department. Other documents such as Health Checkup/ Consultation notices which have been sent to you may be required.

Cancer checkups are free of charge for those who are 70 years of age and above.
*Stomach cancer checkup can't be taken by those under the following conditions:
Those who are pregnant, had a stomach operation, are under stomach treatment, had any kind of allergic reactions such as hives, pallor, or cold hands and feet during gastroscopy.
*Please confirm the date or check whether reservation is necessary or not at the medical institution.
*Basic Health Checkup ended in 2007. Since 2008, the programs have changed to Specific Health Checkups for those who are covered by health insurance (National Health Insurance "Kokumin Kenko Hoken" or Employees' Health Insurance such as "Kenko Hoken Kumiai" and "Kyosai Kumiai.") and Late Elderly Health Checkup. Please confirm the health insurance organization which you belong to for further detail.
