About Sewage

Since 1970, the city has initiated maintenance on the sewer system for the sake of improvement for living environment and water preservation of the public water districts. The diffusion rate of sewage treatment area reached 85.1% in 2007.

Sewage Beneficiary's Charge System: General Affairs Section

When public sewage system construction is carried out, the construction cost is on the land owner according to the size of the land.

For the Areas Provided with Sewage System

If your property is provided with a public sewage system, you are legally obliged to install flush toilets and arrange for kitchen or bath waste water to be drained into the sewage pipe.
*Please note that the construction work above is undertaken only by the designated companies.

Flush Toilet Reform Loan System (This section only applies to toilets replaced within the last 3 years): Maintenance and Promotion Section

If you replace any pump toilets with a flush toilet, part of the construction costs are covered by no interest loans due for redemption within 2 years. (Removal of septic tank is also included in the loan program.)

Procedure: Commission to a designated construction company. --> The company submits an application to the city. (application for loan) --> After getting an approval from the city, the office receives an initiation order and a certificate will be sent to each client. --> The construction starts. --> The company informs the completion to the city. --> Investigation from the city. --> If it meets the standard, acceptance notice will be issued. --> Monthly repayment to the bank account.

Sewage Charges: Maintenance and Promotion Section (since May, 2009)

*Sewage charges will be billed along with the water charges.
*Additional fees according to the water quality will be added to specific drainage.
*Consumption tax and local consumption tax are included.
